Celebrated on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving (in the U.S.) and the widely recognized shopping events Black Friday and Cyber Monday, #GivingTuesday kicks off the charitable season, when many focus on their holiday and end-of-year giving. #SNACKGiveAndGo is part of #GivingTuesday.

give-and-go: {.giv-ən-ˈgō } n.

A play in sports where one team member passes to a second, then moves forward down the court to receive the next pass. Together, they create an opportunity to score a goal.

We have a goal this season: To encourage community members in Yamhill County to be more physically active every day. That’s why we Give-And-Go, and why we raise money. #SNACKGiveAndGo is a 10-day campaign running November 28 – December 7 that motivates us to give to the team, get moving, and take big steps with loved ones toward a healthy future.

Give-and-go together with SNACK this holiday season

SNACK provides fitness opportunities and nutrition education to children and families in Yamhill County. In our fitness program, we host exercise-based events and partner with local organizations to provide youth and families free access to a variety of physical activities.

Our fitness program includes free offerings for our enrolled families including:

  • Get Active In Nature (GAINS) Outdoor Run Club 1x per week spring/summer/fall
  • Soccer club 1x per week summer
  • GAINS Day hikes 1x per month summer
  • Fun runs in October and April
  • SNACK Pass: participants earn passes to the McMinnville Aquatic Center and Community Center
  • After school physical activities for Kids On the Block and Dayton Activities for Student Health
  • And more!

#SNACKGiveAndGo aims to work with you, our community partners and supporters, to raise $10,000 in 10 days and take steps together for health and fitness.

$10,000. 10 days. 1 vision.

How can I get involved in #SNACKGiveAndGo?

Give: Every donation matters. Make a charitable donation at our CrowdRise website November 28 – December 7. Funds raised will go straight to work helping families in our program get access to free fitness opportunities.

Go: Get moving with friends and family during our Step Challenge, taking place December 1 – 7. Log your exercise in our Step Challenge Tracker Form. Meet or exceed certain goals along the way for a chance to win prizes.

#SNACKGiveAndGo is more than fundraiser and a step counting challenge. It is a movement that represents the impact each person can make on their well-being, and that of their loved ones, now and in the future. It’s a movement that reminds you that you are not alone in your journey, and that you’ve got so much to give. Whether it’s walking, swimming, yoga, or another activity, #SNACKGiveAndGo is a chance try new fitness options, exercise with friends, practice fitness skills, and track your steps toward a healthier lifestyle.

Help us reach our goals! Thank you for your support.
